This cherry wood ornament would be a perfect gift for a new homeowner! It would also be a great way to celebrate a marriage or graduation, or to commemorate a memorable vacation there, or even to celebrate a new baby's first Christmas. The ornament measures about 3 inches across and it comes in a presentation box with 'New York' printed on the lid. In addition to being a visually striking detail, it is also a convenient place to safely store the ornament between holiday seasons.

The photos show the ornament with Manhattan as the focus but the ornament can similarly be focused on other boroughs, or zoomed out to show the NYC metropolitan area. Several example drawings are shown to illustrate the different options. I can zoom in even further on a particular neighborhood or a park where an event is located, just make a note of it when ordering or send me a message about it.

The writing shown is merely a suggestion and can be customized however you like, and a heart or star can be cut out at a location if you desire. A personalized message can similarly be engraved on the back of the ornament at no extra charge. When ordering, please leave a detailed description of the writing that you would like and any other customization (such as a heart cutout at a location) in the note to seller box.

The cherry wood used to make this ornament is sourced from street trees in the western Michigan area that have been removed due to construction or storm damage -- not their timber value. After I pick out the wood at the sawmill, I personally process it through a long series of planing and sawing steps, and I finally laser cut it and apply a food-safe hand-rubbed oil finish.

Because wood is a natural material, there is some variation in the wood grain and color therefore no two ornaments will ever be exactly alike.
