This is a California shaped keychain made from reclaimed wood. The cherry wood is from an urban sawmill in western Michigan, and the oak is from an urban sawmill in Madison, Wisconsin. Both sawmills only use wood that was processed from street trees around the city.

The keychain is also available made from old growth reclaimed redwood. The wood is sourced from an old piece of furniture I found on the side of the road in Lexington, Oklahoma, which has been planed and sanded to expose the quality wood underneath the weathered surface. The extremely tight growth lines indicate the immense age of the tree originally cut for the piece of furniture this is reclaimed from.

I would be happy to engrave the wood with a heart, star, or other symbol anywhere on the state -- just mention it when placing the order. The wood measures approximately 2.5 inches by 1 inch. The wood is protected with food safe cutting board oil. Additional mineral oil can be applied at any time if the wood starts looking dry.
