This is a solid wood keychain in the shape of Oklahoma. I would be happy to engrave the wood with a heart, star, or other symbol anywhere on the state -- just mention it when placing the order.

The wood part is made from solid cherry wood and measures 2.25 inches across and is protected with a hand rubbed oil finish.

After the wood comes out of the kiln at the sawmill, I do every step of the processing myself; while it is labor intensive to process solid cherry into wood that can be laser cut, the effort is definitely worth it. The appearance of a solid hardwood is far better than something like birch plywood or alder wood. Additionally, the cherry wood is sourced from a sawmill in western Michigan that produces lumber exclusively using street trees that have been removed due to construction or storm damage. I strongly believe in what they do and my dream is to open a similar operation myself!

The panhandle looks impossibly thin to be strong enough for use as a keychain, but the amazing thing about solid hardwoods is they are incredibly strong along the wood grain. I carefully orient the wood grain when cutting these to take advantage of that strength and they are very tough because of that.
